Larry Bensel
After vacationing in Astoria for the several years, Larry decided to leave California and make Astoria his permanent home. Mr. Bensel spent a significant portion of his life as a contractor and developer. This background offers a perspective not all brokers can offer. Larry has been an active real estate professional for over ten years. In California Larry was both a brokerage owner and sold real estate. Larry will work hard to earn and retain your business and provide your desired results. Larry is based out of Astoria, Oregon, but is happy to serve your needs throughout the North Oregon Coast.
Sam Bensel
After graduating from the University of California, Santa Cruz, Sam was called to the Oregon Coast where she had spent many summer vacations growing up. Originally from Southern California, she fell in love with Oregon’s weather, vast forests, and old homes. Soon after buying her first home in NE Portland, a 1911 Farmhouse, she realized she had another calling ‑ real estate. As the daughter of a contractor and developer, she has always had an appreciation for architecture, building construction, and real estate investments. She loves the fast pace of real estate and excels when there is seemingly more to do than can be done. When Sam isn’t hard at work for Popkin Real Estate, she is volunteering at Freeform Portland Community Radio. Sam and Larry Bensel work together as a team. They are able to cover both residential and commercial needs in Portland and on the Coast.
Beau Blixseth
Beau Blixseth is a native Oregonian with deep roots in the state and community who graduated from Portland State University with B.A. in English. Before Beau received his Real Estate Broker’s license for Oregon, he worked on real estate projects in Montana, Idaho and California.
With nearly two decades personally buying, selling and building projects, Beau decided to take his knowledge back to his Oregon roots to raise his young family and build a business in the Metro Area with personal contacts in commercial, industrial and timber industries, where he feels most at home.

Greg Borger
Greg Borger has been an active member of the Tigard community for 20 years. Greg is experienced in business and sales and is excited to use those experiences in his community helping real estate clients.

Dave Koller
Dave brings a diverse business background and local knowledge to Popkin real estate to assist Mark Popkin. Dave has extensive contacts and great relationships on the coast with over 20 years’ experience operating a successful business and developing property in Seaside and Cannon Beach. He has experience negotiating commercial leases and developing commercial property from a business perspective. He has worked with the City of Seaside on several real estate development projects.

Larry Popkin
Larry began his real estate career in 1990 in California. In 1991, Larry moved to Oregon to complete college at Portland State University and immediately obtained his Oregon real estate license. Following graduation from PSU in 1993, Larry co-founded a successful real estate brokerage in Astoria, OR, with his uncle. Larry experienced quick success as a salesperson and convinced his brother, Mark to join him in 1997. The Popkin Team was formed and the brothers became the top agents on the North Oregon Coast.
In 2000, Larry sought new challenges and went to law school at Indiana University, becoming a lawyer in 2003. He is licensed in Oregon and Texas. After obtaining a master’s degree in tax law from the University of Washington in 2004, Larry moved with his family back to the Oregon coast and joined Steve Campbell, leading to the formation of Campbell & Popkin, LLC. Larry focuses his legal practice on real estate, estate planning/probate and business law. As a lawyer, Larry represents many brokerage owners, individual brokers and people who are selling “by owner” in both residential and commercial transactions. Larry has experience you can trust when it comes to handling your real estate transaction. Larry has also lectured and provided continuing education to real estate to brokers. In 2008, Larry and his uncle sold the real estate company and Larry formed Popkin Real Estate, LLC.
Mark Popkin
Mark has had a unique professional career. At a young age, Mark began working with a professional sports agent and was involved in complex negotiations of their contracts. In addition, Mark organized and promoted several baseball card conventions. In 1997 Mark was talked into moving to Astoria Oregon by his brother, Larry, to join his growing real estate business and sales team. Mark fell in love with the real estate business and has continued pursuing that avenue ever since. Mark uses his sports agent experience and the selling of thousands of properties over his career to bring his clients superior results. During his career, in addition to being a top agent in residential transactions, Mark has developed a successful commercial practice.
